This captivating city, rich in beauty and artsy charisma, has a timeless appeal that’s rooted in art, culture, and warm hospitality. Tbilisi has a handful of things-to-do for digital nomads to have an authentic local experience such as its rejuvenating sulphur baths and its mouthwatering wine & dine experiences.
The cost of living in Tbilisi is relatively affordable, and the city is beautiful of course! Tbilisi, in particular, stands out as an artsy hub, likely to spark the inspiration of digital nomads seeking a vibrant and culturally stimulating environment for their work and lifestyle. Adding to its appeal, is its accessible visa policy that allows passport holders from 94 countries to live there visa free.
For remote business owners, Georgia stands out as an attractive base considering its favourable tax structure. The country's tax laws offer an enticing opportunity for many foreigners to qualify for a low 1% income tax, making it a potentially advantageous choice for international business setups.

Saranda, Albania 🇦🇱
Saranda - also known as Sarandë - is the heart and soul of the Albanian Riviera with good vibes, scenic landscapes, delicious seafood, daily convenience, and a buzzing seaside culture. Saranda is a hidden gem that is on the verge of becoming a well-known travel destination and offers plenty for remote workers looking for an Eastern European base. Saranda is one of the few places in the world that truly stole my heart.
Saranda’s picturesque backdrop is sure to inspire you! On clear days, you can feast your eyes on the neighbouring island of Corfu in Greece, just a quick 30-minute ferry ride away from Saranda.
While Saranda is developing as a travel destination, it has a solid internet infrastructure and plenty of local cafes to work from making it a reliable choice for remote work. The magnetic appeal of this coastal haven is not just a personal favourite, it's a guarantee to resonate with a wide spectrum of tastes and preferences.

Essaouira, Morocco 🇲🇦
Essaouira is Morocco's perfect little bohemian seaside haven, straight out of a fever dream. The city is filled with lively markets, cafes, spice-scented lanes, and art galleries, and its harbour is famously lined with colourful fishing boats. It's truly a hidden gem, a Moroccan harbour just waiting to be discovered.
To my surprise, Essaouira has two coworking and coliving spaces perfectly suited for digital nomads: NOQTA Space and Atlantic Hostel. These hubs offer ideal environments for work and collaboration tailored perfectly to the needs of remote workers like me.
Like many Moroccan cities, Essaouira offers numerous cafes and restaurants with good wifi. So, you can set up shop pretty much anywhere and get stuff done while enjoying the local scene. As a nomad, I’d say I could comfortably spend anywhere between 1 to 2 weeks in Essaouira amidst it’s horseriding and surfing experiences to keep me busy.

Almaty, Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
I’m all for Almaty’s vibes! Almaty’s a modern metropolis in Central Asia, quietly situated in the midst of the Zailyisky Alatau mountains. The city life here is both chic and laid-back, boasting incredible restaurants, bars, and cafes. It gave me the feel of a classic Western European city minus the tourist bustle. Now isn’t that the dream? And when it comes to nature, there’s a reason why Kazakhstan is known as the Switzerland of Asia. This country has some mountainous landscapes that will blow your mind!
I’d say that Almaty is one of those hidden gems for tourists, digital nomads, and solo travellers worldwide. And I have a feeling this place will continue to stay a hidden gem for a while so make the most of it before it gets discovered.

Panama City, Panama 🇵🇦
While nomads in Latin America often visit Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia, Panama is often overlooked. Though, if you’re looking for a location that’s under the radar, I recommend considering Panama. Panama City is a modern urban hub with an excellent quality of life. This city offers a bustling blend of latin culture, an amazing nightlife, beautiful architecture, and stunning flora & fauna.
You can keep Panama City as your base while exploring other parts of the country like Bocas del Toro and San Blas Islands, two beautiful beachy island with crystal water that the Panamanians described as “paraíso”.
Though this hidden gem comes with its perks and modern lifestyle, it’s worth noting that Panama country is fairly more expensive that its neighbouring countries.
